About Me

My grandfather and grandmother owned a small jewelry store in the late 1940s,
after WWII.  Grandpa was a watchmaker, and grandma strung pearls and made
other jewelry.  My father took over the business in the late 1980s, and he is
now a diamond broker and jewelry designer.  As a young girl, I “worked” in the
store after school, to earn a new piece of jewelry out of dad’s case.  I’ve
always been very creative and artistic – always needing an outlet for creative
energy.  I think the experiences I had as a child, working in my father’s jewelry
store, fueled the need for a creative outlet...so when I discovered jewelry
making, I fell in love!  I'm energized by creating beautiful objects, and by seeing
others love something I’ve made.

When trying to decide on a business name, "Sugarplum's" instantly seemed to fit.
My mother called me "Sugarplum" when I was a young girl, and the name has
always been dear to me.

Thanks for visiting Sugarplum's...I hope you've found something to love.
